Attorney Profile
Christopher E. Roberts, Esq.
Partner
Dedicated. Creative. Driven.
Mr. Roberts provides each of his clients dedication, creativity, and the drive to help them achieve their objectives. Mr. Roberts is a skilled litigator who enjoys practicing law. He prides himself on working hard to provide his clients solutions to complex and novel legal issues.
The primary focus of Mr. Roberts's practice is representing consumers in class action litigation. He has successfully resolved class action cases against debt collectors, high-interest lenders, debt settlement companies, timeshare companies, auto dealerships, gyms, telemarketers and many other companies.
Mr. Roberts's practice also includes representing people with a wide variety of individual consumer-related claims. Mr. Roberts has successfully represented people who have been sued over loans with interest rates exceeding 700%. He has successfully represented people in cases where a company attempted to collect over $40,000.00 on a loan for less than $3,000.00. He has successfully represented people who improperly had judgments entered against them. He has successfully represented people who have been misled by debt settlement companies. He has successfully represented people who have been subjected to improper debt collection practices. He has successfully represented people who have had their wages improperly garnished. In short, there are relatively few consumer-related issues that Mr. Roberts has not encountered.
The dedication of Mr. Roberts and his law partner, David Butsch, has ultimately led to millions of dollars being paid to consumers and millions of dollars of debt being eliminated for consumers.
When Mr. Roberts is not litigating cases, he makes a concerted effort to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in class action litigation and consumer law. Mr. Roberts is a nationally-published author and a nationally-recognized lecturer on class action issues. As part of this effort, Mr. Roberts frequently contributes to the American Bar Association (ABA) and The Missouri Bar.
In law school, Mr. Roberts served as an editor for the UMKC Law Review and as a staff member for The Urban Lawyer. Mr. Roberts also received academic honors in law school and the Candler S. Rogers Writing Award for the most outstanding piece of legal writing submitted to the UMKC Law Review.
At the University of Kansas, Mr. Roberts was a member of the football team and received academic honors. He was a member of Mark Mangino's first recruiting class. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Jayhawks team that played in the 2003 Tangerine Bowl.
While Mr. Roberts loves the practice of law, what he loves most is spending time with his wife and three children. His dedication to his clients is only surpassed by his dedication to being a Dad of three.
